Karma Effect in My Startup #19
Karma is the principle of cause and effect, where a person’s actions influence their future, often summarized as “what you sow, so shall you reap.”

I perceive startups as one of the fastest ways to know oneself. My startup journey has revealed my true self in profound ways. For instance, we once had just $100 in the company bank account, an employee asked for a raise, and within a month, a customer inquired if I was seeking funding. We got featured in the Economic Times—so many events turned around in such a short span of time! These experiences can only happen in startups.
Not everything went my way, and I often wondered why certain things happened to me. Here are some challenging incidents:
- We were about to sign a deal when the key stakeholder changed jobs, causing us to restart negotiations.
- I missed a connecting flight and had a delayed start at a tech conference, resulting in missed leads.
- We sent an invoice to clients but missed including the tax component, which we ended up paying out of pocket.
- Our R&D project and a client project overlapped, leading to wrongful accusations of using their idea.
- We faced a three-month delay in collecting payment from a vendor.
I feel lucky to have survived near-death situations at ActOnMagic. At the end of the day, I could have easily been on the losing side. What determined my luck? I wholeheartedly attribute it to God’s grace and my past actions, whether from a previous birth or the current one. Amidst so many challenges, I am grateful that help arrived whenever we needed it.
I believe that the experience I gathered from ActOnMagic indeed fast-forwarded my karma’s effect and enabled me to live a pure life! I thank all of my team, mentors, customers, and partners for taking part in the ActOnMagic journey.
Have a good weekend !
