Have you ever unfriended someone on Facebook? Been blocked on Instagram? Removed or been removed from a WhatsApp group?
Take a deep breath.
No, seriously—a deeeeeeep breath 😊
I’ve been on both sides of that experience. I’ve unfriended people. I’ve been unfriended. I’ve removed others from groups and been removed myself. Each time, it stirred something in me—hurt, reflection, growth.
Sometimes, we trust someone with a secret, and they break that trust publicly. The pain of betrayal lingers, but over time, I’ve learned that while situations may not always be in our control, our reactions define our future experiences.
My Gurudeva once said:
“A secret is a secret. If someone shares it with you, respect it. If you make a promise, honor it.”
This advice rings especially true in families. When children hide things from parents, emotional distance grows. That’s why open communication—real, judgment-free family time—is so crucial today. It’s during these moments that we reconnect with each other and with our purpose.
Why was I born into this family?
Why did I get this child as my son or daughter?
Why don’t I have a child yet?
Should I consider adoption?
Clarity begins to unfold when we sit together, share, listen, and reflect.
The Universe is Just – Always
This world is beautiful—100%.
God never created “good” or “bad.”
Instead, we were given the Law of Karma—cause and effect. What we give, we receive. The challenge is, we often don’t remember what we gave, yet we’re living its consequences. Every moment is an experience, not something to judge, but something to grow from.
One of the most powerful things my Guru ever told me was:
“Life is meant to be lived joyfully.”
Let’s Revisit “Connections”
Before we talk about removing connections, let’s reflect on how they begin.
You get a friend request.
You wonder—Who is this person?
Do I know them?
What’s their intention?
What will this connection bring into my life?
And sometimes, the connection feels genuine. You accept it. You talk. You share. Sometimes it evolves into deep friendship or even love. Sometimes it doesn’t. And that’s okay.
Everything we experience—even on social media—is still part of our karmic journey. That’s why we need some anchor practices or routines to keep us centered and aligned with our goals.
What’s the Foolproof Tool?
The answer: A Guru.
You might ask:
Do I really need a Guru?
Can’t I just watch spiritual videos online?
Sure, watching videos can be a starting point. But it depends on where you are in life and where you want to go. A real Guru doesn’t just teach you. They guide you through life’s journey, like a compass pointing true north.
Removing Connections is Part of the Journey
Think of life like a journey from Bangalore to the Himalayas.
You’ll pass through many cities. Each city holds experiences meant for you. You can choose your mode of travel—bus, flight, train, or bike—but the journey is yours alone.
If you skip a city, you skip the experience. But remember, you are not meant to stay in one place forever. Some people will travel with you for part of the way, and some will not. And that’s okay.
Sometimes, for your growth—or theirs—it’s better to remove a connection. That’s not cruelty. That’s clarity.
